Tele-presence on the fire feild could be of great help for them. Working two years with the Adriatic center for fire fighting in Divulje we have developed a really user friendly iForestFire manual mode, maximally adapted to fire fighter needs.
In manual mode the camera could be moved (pan, tilt and zoom) using mouse, keyboard, virtual joystick or real joystick, Three important features in manual mode are camera control using geo-referenced map, panorama image or thumb images of preset positions. Only one simple click on the geo-referenced map and camera turn around to show that position. Also by , or simple click on 360 o panoramic image camera moves and shows quickly the selected view..
